We are not currently accepting mural designs. Contact Lia if you would like to host a mural or fund a mural downtown.
Option 1 - Submit a mural design
Submit a design. If your design is selected for inclusion in the project, we will present it to participating property owners. If a property owner selects your design,
we will contact you. Please tell us the significance of the design you have created or any local history or interest your design references, if applicable. Please estimate dimensions your mural could be with a $1000 budget and what they could be with a $4000 budget. (We know that budgets can vary widely depending on wall surface and material.)
Option 2 - Design for a specific wall
Choose from one of our available locations, then design a mural for that wall. Bonus points for using elements of the wall, its texture, or other unique features of the architecture in creative ways. For example, one of our walls is corrugated metal. If you can design around that challenge, you've got our attention. Budgets should be between $1000 and $4000, but we would make an exception for something truly spectacular. Check here for currently available locations. More locations coming soon!
Would you like to host a mural? If you own property within the CBD of Fort Bragg, get in touch with us ASAP!
Option 3 - Propose a mural project
Submit a design in collaboration with a property owner for a mural in the central business district of Fort Bragg CA. You can not submit a design for your own building, we are trying to encourage collaboration. Budgets should be between $1000 and $4000, but we would make an exception for something truly spectacular. Bonus points if the property owner could contribute to your mural budget.
The Rules - Selection criteria
Selections will be based on a combination of factors. We would like to be as inclusive as possible, but we have goals for the project that we need to reach. Also, the city of Fort Bragg has public art guidelines, so we need to follow those to the letter.
We will judge each entry based on these criteria:
The submission deadline is November 30, 2021.
Don't have a design in mind?
You can still submit your portfolio or a link to your website or Instagram. We will keep you in mind and show your work to property owners who are considering hosting a piece of public artwork.
Design a piece of public artwork on the theme of Emergency Preparedness Education. The budget is $7200. The funds come from an EPIC / NCO grant. The artwork must be in Fort Bragg. Contact Lia for more information. There's no specific deadline yet on this project.
