Artist’s Prayer for The Days Ahead
I desire no power over another,
Curry no favor with thieves.
The light I am given a gift beyond measure.
The
 shadows a comfort
When there’s too much to bear.
To be granted more than mere existence,
Joyous song and artful creation
To lift up my days.
The only craving I am unable to shed:
May peace in some small part
Arise in my wake.
